The Lakeshore Lowdown is a free email newsletter for Muskegon and Grand Haven. It lands every Tuesday and Friday morning with what's happening this weekend, live music, local sports, the weather on the water, and what your neighbors are talking about.
No national news, no regional filler. Just the lakeshore: the festivals, the fish fries, the Friday night games, the restaurant that just opened and the one that just closed. Tuesday sets up your week. Friday gets you out the door for the weekend.
The Lowdown is written by Sam Johnson, a Muskegon native who came home and wanted one place to find out what's actually going on around here. If you've ever missed something great because it was buried in a Facebook group, this is for you.
Every date, time, score, price and name gets checked against the original source, then checked again before it goes out. Game times come from local sports reporters and the schools themselves, not guesses. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
